Arena: Smart grids – Unlocking the renewable energy future

This arena and conference will constitute a dynamic melting pot for a wide range of stakeholders involved in the rapid evolution of the energy landscape. Smart grids enable a controlled transition to an entirely renewable electricity production. During the day, dialogue will take place around important themes related to the development and deployment of smart grid technologies and solutions in the electricity system.

The program includes topics related to how innovation in local grids can be accelerated; how disruptive digital technologies enable a customer-centered energy system; how batteries are integrated into the grid; the evolution and role of local energy communities; how an integrated market for the holistic energy system could be designed; and the role of smart grids in reaching the climate goals.

Presentation of the Smart Grid Arena Challenge – to produce policy messages to the Clean Energy Ministerial! These will be debated in the closing panel for the Arena at the end of the day.
