A challenge ahead of us is to deliver on the need for capacity and skills requested by a developing industry. Today’s civil engineers need to broaden their competence level. In our changing world products are becoming more technically advanced (involving information technology), the production industry is being digitalized and is adapted to the use of internet. Taking advantage of the posibilities of a more digitalized and connected industry is a must for being competitive.
The focus area Industry 4.0, under the Government strategy for new industrialisation for Sweden, in different ways aims to support companies in the Swedish industrial sector to be leaders of the digital transformation and in exploiting the potential of digitalization.
The project Master 4.0 aims to meet the above challenges by providing new and specifically designed curricula and education for universities and industry and at the same time bringing them together. Courses cover both theoretical and operational aspects, for example subjects such as 3D production and the collaboration between robotics and humans, and are taking place both in situ and on line.
This event will present the focus area Industry 4.0 and the project Master 4.0 – A Swedish initiative for smart production and education, involving the interactive demonstration of e.g. VR-equipment.
